Both the Akita and the American Pitbull Terrier are smart, so the training supposed to be a walk in a park. In theory. But, as I’ve mentioned above, the mix also happens to be a bit stubborn. And that can be a challenge to deal with during behavioral training and early socialization.

It’s crucial to establish your authority with this dog. It means that you always have to be in charge: you decide which orders they will follow, where you will walk and at what pace, etc.
Also, as with all the breeds, praise and rewards are very important to make the knowledge stick and to reassure the positive behavior. Do not give any treats Akita Pit if he or she does anything wrong though. And don’t get mad either. Keep giving the commands until the pup obeys.
